Fairtrade

All Saints is proud to be a Fairtrade Church, we were among the first in our Diocese to declare ourselves as such.

We have pledged to serve Fairtrade beverages wherever we cater and as many other refreshments as possible. We seek to the best of our abilities to uphold & promote the 10 principles of Fairtrade as laid down by the World Fairtrade Foundation:

1. Create Opportunities for Economically Disadvantaged Producers
2. Transparency and Accountability
3. Fair Trading Practices
4. Payment of a Fair Price
5. Ensuring no Child Labour and Forced Labour
6. Commitment to Non-Discrimination, Gender Equality, Freedom of Association
7. Ensuring Good Working Conditions
8. Providing Capacity Building
9. Promoting Fair Trade
10. Respect for the Environment

The above list is a reduced version of the 10 Principles of Fair Trade. To see WFTO’s full list, please visit their website here: http://www.wfto.com/fair-trade/10-principles-fair-trade

To promote Fairtrade within our Church community, we have a Fairtrade stall in the church hall on the 3 rd Sunday of each month following the 10am Service where Fairtrade groceries & crafts/gifts may be purchased.

All are welcome to visit this stall, even if they do not choose to attend the service. A Fairtrade stall is also available at our twice-a-month Fairtrade Cafés , held on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays in the Savage Room (to the rear of our hall) from 10.30am-12noon where we serve Fairtrade Teas & Coffees (or hot chocolate!) together with homemade cakes (always containing at least one Fairtrade ingredient!) at reasonable prices.

All are welcome to join us for a friendly cuppa & a chat, all profits go to our month’s Good Cause.
